Watchnight Service 2008

I worked on the last day of the year. :(

At night, we had Watchnight Service from 9.30pm - past midnight.

I decided to wear something "nice" (as opposed to my normal jeans and t-shirt). JoelC commented that I looked like a princess :) Gosh! He sure knew how to brighten up my evening!!!

With the current economic downturn and uncertainty of the future, Pastor Ben preached an appropriate sermon on "Do not worry" based on Matthew 6:25-34. There was an altar call where many people responded to.

Refreshment was next on the agenda.

And then the Louis girls sang a medley special.

As usual, we had a time of testimonies. Only 6 got to testify before the clock struck midnight.

About 5 minutes before midnight, Pastor Ben showed us a short video clip where Barbara Striesand sang a special song before doing a count down.

"10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Happy New Year!!!!!"

There were lots of hand shakings, hugs, kisses and well wishes. Everyone was all over the place.

After 10 minutes of greeting chaos, Pastor Ben did something different. We read aloud Bible verses that were projected onto the screen :-

By the time we got to Rajen's mother's place for a short family gathering, it was way past 1am.

Another year had passed and a new year had begun.
